Feb. 10 - Boxer Mike Tyson is convicted of raping a Miss Black America contestant, Desiree Washington. In March, Tyson is sentenced to a 6 year sentence.
Feb. 17 - Serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer is sentenced to life in prison.
April 2 - Mafia boss John Gotti is convicted of murdering rival boss Paul Castellano. Gotti is later sentenced to life in prison.
April 29 - LAPD officers accused of using excessive force in the beating of Rodney King are found not guilty. Verdict results in rioting in Los Angeles.
Aug. 17 - U.S. Marshals start siege of Ruby Ridge.
Aug. 24-28 - Hurricane Andrew hits Florida.
Nov. 3 - Bill Clinton defeats incumbent George H. W. Bush and H. Ross Perot for President.

SPORTS
Jan. 26 - SuperBowl XXVI - Washington Redskins defeat the Buffalo Bills, 37-24.
June 1 - Stanley Cup - Pittsburgh Penguins sweep the Chicago Blackhawks in 4 games.
Oct. 24 - World Series - Toronto Blue Jays beat the Atlanta Braves, 4-2, to become the first Canadian champion.
